Disability — A badge of honour

We had an #accessibility awareness week at Google recently, and I was asked to answer a few questions about my disability, how does it affect my work, , should we talk about this topic more, and how can we improve as an org.

Spoiler: The bottomline is that it’s important that we discuss this topic more and address it. There is no shame in it. There are many successful people with disabilities around us and working with us, and I strongly believe that going through life with a disability, is a badge of honor. Most importantly, I think there is huge headroom for improvement. Even at a company like Google, which IMHO is doing better than others, with a very active community that is committed to the topic, and that is supported by the org. So please spread the word, and let’s make the world a better place.
